Saeed Scholarship: The community of blood bankers in Michigan
has been fortunate to benefit from the teaching and leadership
of an excellent mentor, Dr. Sheikh Saeed. Dr. Saeed
worked tirelessly on behalf of the MABB. The Sheikh Saeed
Memorial Scholarship will help perpetuate the tradition of
lifelong learning that Dr. Saeed exemplified. He was
a past President and an active participant in the MABB for
many years and was especially involved in the Annual Meeting.
Dr. Saeed was deeply committed to the education of technologists
and physicians in blood banking and transfusion medicine.
This $200 Scholarship is being offered by the
Henry Ford Health System to defray the cost of attending the
Annual Meeting, and will be presented at the Business Meeting
on September 17, 2008.
The scholarship is open to any medical technologist
or physician-in-training in the fields of immunohematology,
histocompatibility, or blood banking. An MABB member must
nominate the recipient. A member may nominate his/herself.
