I am a graduate of the University of Iowa
and hold a BS Microbiology, MS Pathology and MD. My residency
and fellowship training were at the University of Iowa Hospitals
and Clinics. I am board-certified in Clinical Pathology
and Transfusion Medicine. I spent 3 years as an Assistant
Professor of Pathology at the State University of New York
at Syracuse. I have been at the University of Michigan since
Fall 2000 as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology
and Associate Medical Director, Blood Bank and Apheresis.
My research interests are in immunohematology and glycobiology,
specifically the role and regulation of blood-group related
glycolipids. I am an avid fan of Michigan (and Iowa) football.
